A Sweet Surprise Maternity Session on the River
A few weeks ago, one of David’s old friends from high school reached out on Instagram with the sweetest idea, she wanted to surprise her sister-in-law with a maternity session and also get a few photos with her boyfriend and their pup. Of course, we said yes.
We planned a date and made a little trip out of it, heading to David’s hometown for the shoot. Since it’s been extra hot lately, we opted for a mid-morning session to beat the worst of the heat. We met them at their family farm and followed the dirt path all the way down to the river, it felt like a hidden little spot, and it was the perfect setting for this session.
Kim, the mama-to-be, was so sweet and genuinely surprised. She was glowing and made our job easy. She kept saying how effortless the whole session felt and how much she appreciated being guided through the poses without having to worry about a thing. We started on the dock by the river, then moved to a nearby field with tall grass and soft morning light. The heat was creeping up, so we kept things quick and simple, but so meaningful.
After snapping some beautiful shots of Kim, we hopped back in the car for a quick AC break (thank goodness), then finished up the morning with Madison and her boyfriend and their adorable dog, of course. Including their dog added the perfect playful touch, and we’re so glad they loved their gallery as much as we did.
We’re wishing Kim all the best as she gets ready to welcome her baby girl into the world. This was such a thoughtful surprise to be part of, and we’re so grateful we got to document this special season for their family.
